Root D4, CH, 6039Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors.

TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer and other types of solid cancers.

To lead our Global Thoracic indication out of Switzerland, we are looking for a:
Therapeutic Area Lead, VP Medical Affairs, Thoracic-Oncology


The
Therapeutic Area Lead, VP Medical Affairs, Thoracic-Oncology provides leadership in support of the medical and scientific initiatives for TTFields Therapy.

This individual will play a critical role in defining and executing on the global medical affairs strategy in alignment with the overall business and commercial strategy for TTFields and will be a key member on the Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team.


Your responsibilities:


  • Lead the medical affairs strategy for launching the next indication for TTFields in NSCLC Cancer and ensures alignment across all medical affairs tactics and deliverables for a global launch
  • Provide strategic medical input as an essential member on the launch brand strategy and the disease state teams for the upcoming indication in NSCLC Cancer (as well as potential other indications to be pursued in the Thoracic oncology space and the existing MPM indication)
  • Serve as the medical and scientific expert on TTFields Therapy for internal and external activities such as advisory board meetings, steering committees, faculty training, product training with a focus on Thoracic oncology
  • Assume a pivotal role in establishing key opinion leader relationships
  • Work closely with the dedicated Thoracic oncology Medical Science Liaisons teams
  • Assess scientific/medical data gaps and develops evidence generation plan(s) to address these gaps, including post marketing studies and database analyses
  • As Medical Lead, this individual will help design and facilitate the company sponsored pre
- and post
- marketing clinical trial(s) in the field of Thoracic oncology

  • Responsible for guidance and approvals of promotional materials in the field of Thoracic oncology in close collaboration with the Medical Communications team
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team in developing an integrated medical strategy
  • Ensure strict compliance with medical and ethical standards

Your profile:


  • MD, PhD or PharmD required; clinical experience in the field of (Thoracic) Oncology is preferred
  • Medical science background with a strong understanding of clinical research and clinical trial design and management is required
  • Pharmaceutical and/or medical device launch experience strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the biopharmaceutical or medical device industry is required
  • Articulate, demonstrates leadership through influence
