The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. Technician superconducting magnets*:
Your tasks:

Development of winding processes for hightemperature superconductors and adaptation of processes for vacuum pressure impregnation
Test and optimization of thermal components and contacts for cooling coils with refrigeration machines (cryocooler)
Instrumentation with thermal, mechanical, magnetic, and electrical sensors, including data acquisition.
Design and manufacturing (turning, simple CNC milling, drilling) of simple production and test tools
CAD design and manufacturing drawings for a magnet system including electrical and thermal feeds, vacuum cryostat, coil formers, etc., as well as sourcing of components

Your profile:

Completed vocational training as a design engineer or polymechanic with further training as a technician (HF/TH)
Experience in technical design and drawing (preferably CATIA V5/6)
Experience in metalworking
Motivated to learn, develop and find innovative solutions in this exciting field.
Confident communication in English and an interest in working in an international environment
