Amentum is seeking a
Tracking Controller (In Air/In Water Systems) to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The
Tracking Controller is responsible for the management of real-time in-air and in-water range tracking systems and is accountable to the Test Operations Manager on the AUTEC project.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.


Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage realtime range tracking systems to meet test operation requirements in an efficient and successful manner.
  • Review all relevant test operations' documents such as operation directives, test plans, pretest briefings, and unclassified and classified naval messages.
  • Coordinate test tracking requirements with downrange site personnel prior/during/posttest support.
  • Attend pertinent test meetings including Range Safety briefs, pretest briefs, test specific planning meetings, and range scheduling meetings.
  • Ensure tracking stations in the Realtime Display Center are properly prepared and manned for range testing as required by the Operations Directive and AUTEC Schedule of Operations.
  • Maintain realtime logs of all test operations in accordance with established procedures and oversee supplemental documentation requirements such as deficiency reports and range utilization reports.
  • Provide technical evaluation to the duty team of any realtime problem and suggest alternatives for meeting test objectives.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to meet customer demands in conjunction with keeping company objectives in focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Military service or commercial experience (3 yrs.) in a technical field involving largescale test operations may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
  • Must be able to qualify as a Tracking Controller for I/A and I/W Systems in accordance with workbased learning and certification requirements Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English required.
  • Capacity to manage close vision work on computer screens/monitors.
  • Must be able to walk up/down a one flight stairwell as well as board range craft and fixed/rotary wing aircraft.
  • Work independently and as a part of a team with contractor, Range User and NUWC personnel.
  • Aptitude for tactful interaction with a wide variety of military and civilian personnel of various nationalities.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure; remain flexible and professional coping with changes in a realtime environment.

Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate or BS degree in Engineering, Science, Electronics, or equivalent preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various tracking, acoustical, and/or communication systems as well as performance characteristics of US Navy vessels and antisubmarine warfare tactics a plus.
  • Knowledge of AUTEC capabilities beneficial.
