    We are looking for an Associate Specialist Microbial Metabolites, to support and manage research activities focused on understanding the role of microbial metabolites in microbiome-host interactions. This role involves expanding the systems biology view on metabolites: integrating metabolites from different biological sources to understand how microbial metabolism drives the functional microbiome & microbiome-host interactions, collaborating with other groups and external network to explore microbial metabolites and functional aspects of microbiome-host crosstalk, and supporting communication on the role of metabolites in the context of microbiome-host topics.

    A Day in the Life of an Associate Specialist Microbial Metabolites

  • Develop and execute cross-business research activities in microbiome-mediated physiology and health
  • Provide expertise on interpretation and integration of metabolomics data using state of the art methods to build an integrative view of microbiome-host interactions and role of metabolites in functional microbiome
  • Ensure effective IP strategies
  • Foster innovation through team collaboration and guidance
  • Facilitate interaction with technical teams and scientists across NIHS, Nestlé Research & Nestlé Product and Technology Center
  • Cultivate relationships within R&D and relevant businesses to support needs and generate ideas
  • Monitor external partners and strengthen strategic relationships when necessary
  • Support communication of scientific results internally and externally
  • What will make you successful

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology or Metabolism in the field of metabolomics and microbial metabolites, particularly in the context of microbiome-host interactions
  • Experience in leading projects and stakeholder management
  • Interest and experience in bridging science and technology
  • Strong collaborative mindset and communication skills
  • Fluent in English
