The Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology (ITMP) is an institution of the University of Bern, Switzerland with three major tasks: teaching, research and diagnostic service.

In total, there are around 190 employees at the Institute.

The ITMP provides an attractive setting to perform cutting-edge translational research in direct collaboration with pathologists and oncologists treating patients.

As of January 2024 or by arrangement, the research group of Perren/Marinoni/Sadowski of the Division of Experimental Pathology is seeking a Research data manager 40-60 % (Endocrine Pathology).

Workplace

Endocrine pathology lab., Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology, University of Bern, Switzerland.

In our interdisciplinary group we integrate molecular biological (in vitro and in vivo) and clinical (human tissue-based) research approaches.

We are looking for a highly motivated person organizing our research data including clinical data and experimental data as well as our tissue bank overarching several projects.

In addition, performing standard descriptive statistical analysis as well as supporting the team in the organization of the experimental data.

Experience in laboratory organization is of advantage.

Requirements:

You have completed training as a research data manager of BMA or biology laboratory technician with interest and experience in data-management.

You have experience in management of both clinical as well as in experimental data. You have good knowledge of excel and usage of research databases. Previous experience in a molecular laboratory is a plus.

You are a team player, act responsibly, work independently, and with your own initiative to develop new techniques and projects.

You are flexible, enjoy your work and value the interactions in a diverse, young team. You enjoy new things and building internal structures. Good knowledge of English is required.
