Root D4, CH, 6039Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors.

TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe, Israel, China and Japan.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer and other types of solid cancers.

To support our team in Root, Switzerland we are looking for a

Global Category Manager, Direct Sourcing

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the growth of Novocure through building a solid supplier base strategy and increasing profitability.

As part of the global procurement team, you will lead initiatives with the target to improve product quality and supplier service levels while pursuing cost reductions.

Additionally you will be supporting the Engineering and Manufacturing departments in driving external innovation, by directly connecting and linking business needs with external capabilities, technologies, or products that help accelerating our overall strategic plan.

Your responsibilities:

You will be setting up and executing strategies to achieve procurement goals for business critical categories such as batteries, plastics and electronics.
In regards to critical suppliers, you will be leading the strategic suppler relationship management (SRM) and support the supplier performance monitoring process through scorecards.
Through contribution to the development of risk management strategies, you help to increase awareness to risk mitigation and ensure the implementation of appropriate plans.
You will be driving cost saving activities in alignment with business requirements through proper design to cost execution.
By developing category expertise and maintaining up to date market intelligence you stay ahead of changes in the supplier base and new technologies
You will own the new product introduction (NPI) process according to stage gate & design controls for direct sourcing categories and ensure successful introductions through the alignment of internal and external key stakeholders.
You will lead the selection, evaluation and negotiation processes of new suppliers through the internal source to contract process.

Your Profile:

You bring multiple years of experience in strategic sourcing of technical parts and components based on an educational background in a technical field is required.
Experience in working with manufacturing and Research and Development departments and suppliers.
A solid understanding of sourcing methodologies and tools supports your ability to work independently and proactively in your field while demonstrating analytical decisionmaking skills and a creative thought process.
Your ability to deliver and implement sourcing strategies have delivered measureable successes.
You have led (virtual) project teams in a local, regional or global environment.
Ideally you bring experience in the medical device industry or alternatively in other highly regulated fields such as Biotech, Automotive, Aviation or Consumer Electronics.
Experience in commercialization processes of new products would be a plus.
You are willing to travel up to 30% of time
Fluent in English and able to work in an international, fast paced environment.
