Beschreibung

Moving Spine AG (in formation) is a subsidiary of the Balgrist Association that aims to implement a breakthrough technology from the research of Balgrist University Hospital.

The newly developed surgical procedure has the potential to replace one of the most commonly performed surgeries (~8 million procedures worldwide/year), spinal fusion surgery.

First operations in the laboratory and on patients show excellent results. In this context, Balgrist has secured significant funding to turn the idea into a functioning company.

The goal of Moving Spine AG is to develop the surgical instruments and implants associated with the new technology and bring them to market in certified form.


The startup is located in Zurich and as partner of the University Clinic Balgrist, we have the opportunity to leverage support resources and expertise as well as access to one of the most modern research centers of Switzerland.


In this context we are looking for a motivated, innovative Research Associate w/m (100%) with experience in instrument development for medical technology for "Moving Spine AG".

Your tasks:


  • Contribute to optimize and evaluate solutions based on literature review and existing data
  • Contribute to develop relevant tests to characterize and validate solutions
  • Carry out testing, analyze results and present the findings to the team
  • Being flexible to cover new roles and responsibilities that will arise as the startup evolves

Your profile:


  • Master's degree in Biomechanics, Biomedical engineering, Material science, Health Science andTechnology or related field (Uni/ETH)
  • Dry and wet lab experience
  • Spine, tendon or cartilage work experience is a plus
  • Proactive and problemsolving mindset
  • Ready to adapt and move fast
  • Precise, correct and organized work
  • Good communications skills
  • Selfmanagement to prioritize your work
