    THE ROLE

    We are looking for a Chef for our colleague restaurant to join the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich Team

    Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the old town, within the main business centre, close to the city's leisure attractions and a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. Set to open end of 2023, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will feature 80 guestrooms and suites and three dining outlets, comprising an all-day dining venue, a speciality restaurant, and a lobby lounge. The property is ideally placed for meetings and gatherings, and the renovation will enhance conference and event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

    As a Chef for our colleague restaurant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

    • Ensuring the flawless preparation, quality and appealing presentation of our food in accordance with our high quality standards
    • Ensuring that food waste is kept to a minimum
    • Creative support in the development of a new, varied menu for our staff canteen
    • Requesting goods in coordination with the supervisor and checking the daily receipt of goods
    • Responsible for the daily control of hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

    As a Chef for our colleague restaurant, we expect you to have:

    • Completed training as a chef
    • Professional experience in a similar function - preferably in the upscale hotel/catering industry
    • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position includes weekend and public holiday shifts
    • Eye for detail and creativity - to bring your culinary signature to the table
    • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
    • Strong leadership skills - to manage your own post
    • High level of commitment as well as a structured, results-oriented and independent way of working
    • High quality awareness
    • Very good knowledge of English, further foreign language skills are an advantage
