The 12 months traineeship is an excellent opportunity to get an insight into the day-to-day tasks and processes in Finance and Accounting at Kempinski Hotels SA.

The main objective is to expose the trainee to all aspects of accounting and finance and to receive the support to learn, grow and contributes in a great and international environment.

Main Responsibilities


Accounts Payable:

  • Expense processing and allocating to the correct accounts, costs centers and cost objects by registering, reviewing and verifying vendor invoices and employee's travel reports, matching invoices to purchase orders and travel reports to travel authorization forms and by collaborating with the respective departments and employees for clarity, missing data or for being a support role. Moreover, the Corporate Accounting Trainee learn how to comply with international and company policies and procedures and established standards.
  • Preparing national and international payment runs so that employees and vendors are paid in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Reviewing AP aging report and any accrual, clearing and prepaid accounts are up to date, actively research and resolve any outstanding discrepancies by interfacing directly with our colleagues and suppliers around the world.
  • Dealing with petty cash, recording the related expenses and reconciling it on a monthly basis

Accounts Receivable:

  • Reviewing and maintaining aged debtors report and all related balance sheet accounts (e.g. other receivables, deferred/accrued income, finder fee accruals, etc.), researching and resolving discrepancies
  • Assisting the team in contacting the hotels worldwide to ensure correct incoming payment allocations and the follow up on outstanding payments to be received.
  • Writing Credit Meeting Minutes

General:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual closings (including reconciliations and analysis) together with the rest of the Accounting team in a timely and accurate manner.
Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business.
