We are looking for a passionate

Research Team Manager:

you assume responsibility for leading our "Systems and Automation" research team at the Swiss site of the Central European Hitachi Energy Research Center.

Your team is focused on interdisciplinary research in the areas of Power Systems Analysis and Control, Software, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Lead a multidisciplinary research team
Contribute to research projects and prestudies
Recruit new employees, coach team members to support their professional development, and coach project leaders for to professionally execute R&D projects
Foster the creation of new research project proposals and strategic research initiatives
Maintain and extend an excellent network to relevant business units and leading universities
Contribute to an innovative and motivating working environment within our research center and globally within Hitachi Energy Research
Promote collaboration between the German and Swiss sites of the Central European Research Center, and with all Hitachi Energy Research Centers

Your background

Strong leadership, management, and communication skills
Teamoriented and innovative personality as well as solutionoriented working style
Curiosity and enthusiasm to work on technologies that enable the global energy transition
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Several years of experience and proven track record in industrial R&D
Technical expertise in one or more of the areas power systems, power systems control, software architecture, machine learning, artificial intelligence, substation automation and interest in new fields of research and technology
Fluency in English (written and oral)
