Position purpose
As expert, drive architecture setup, development and standardization of Clean Utilities Automation (CUA) and Facility Monitoring System (FMS).


In project phase, the position holder will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of Clean Utilities Automation (CUA) and Facility Monitoring System (FMS) solutions, including the design, setup, commissioning, startup and the validation of both software and hardware components.

In operational phase, the position holder will have to maintain the functionalities of the systems ensuring the business continuity.


Technical responsibilities

  • Collaboration with various departments (ex. QA, QC, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, I&T or rest of Automation) in project and operation phase in order to assure overall coordination of the dependencies and required exchange information for the execution of CUA and FMS.
  • Develop the CUA and FMS (software, hardware aspects) and delivers according to the project schedule and requirements as well as the needs of the future established organization
  • Contribute to computerized system related documentation for qualification and validation activities such as URS, FS, DS, FRA, etc. related to CUA and FMS.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of different Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instruction (WI) or Guidelines for qualification/validation and routine activities for CUA and FMS
  • Lead and contribute actively to the system testing during FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ
  • Lead in the Package Units Integration into TIA Portal
  • Lead and contribute actively in the commissioning effort for Hardware testing and network setup: Controller Cabinets, Remote IO Cabinets, Motor Control Center Cabinets, IO Loop Testing
  • Provide technical support with a view to resolve problems related to CUA and FMS as rapidly as possible
  • Lead in the systems fixing during commissioning phase and startup activities
  • Part of automation piquet team as per Thermo Fisher Scientific piquet organization

Quality

  • Ensures implementation of and alignment to current GMP rules, Quality policies, procedures and instructions for their area of responsibility.
  • Ensures contribution of their organizational unit to continuous quality improvement initiatives and deviation reporting and followup.

EHSS

  • Ensures implementation of and alignment to EHSS legal requirements, rules, policies, procedures and instructions for their area of responsibility.
  • Ensures contribution of their organizational unit to EHSS initiatives and issues as well as near miss reporting and followup.

Education
Degree (bachelor, masters or long experience in an equivalent position) in automation-, electro
- or electronic
- engineer, Dipl. Ing. or M.Sc. or B.Sc. or equivalent


Experience

  • Confirmed experiences and knowledge in Automation, Hardware design, Software Design, PLC technology.
  • Sound experience with the TIA Portal system as well as experience with water generation and distribution, clean steam and chemical distribution.
  • Proven experience with a Facility Monitoring System (e.g. Mirrhia)
  • Indepth working experience in regulated industries; knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR part11 and validation is a plus
  • Proven project execution skills including document development and software implementation.
  • Knowledge of active directory, DNS, IP networks and virtualization is a plus
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of ISA 95 and ISA 88 standards
  • Proven customer focus experiences and situational adaptability with both internal and external resources.
  • Confirmed experiences in cGxP qualification
  • Proven experience in support of multisite projects is a plus
  • Languages: English fluent in written and spoken. German is a plus
