    Job Description

    If you are a dedicated .NET developer with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager to contribute to building analytical systems that manage global energy operations, we want you on board at Vitol.

    Your role

    As a skilled BA/.NET developer, you will play a key role in expanding our global analytics team. This team utilizes data from our inhouse trading system and external sources. With our rapid growth, we are seeking outstanding individuals to help us achieve our mission. This position offers direct engagement with the business.

    As a member of the analytics team based in Geneva, Switzerland, you will:

    • Build an innovative Master Data platform that consolidates all our applications and integrates them using a standardized set of entities, such as locations, vessels, and contracts.
    • Analyze business requirements to determine necessary use-cases for various systems and design solutions accordingly.
    • Collaborate with a global development team.
    • Translate user feedback into design enhancements and bug fixes.
    • Develop clean, well-documented, and tested code to meet business needs.
    • Offer support and training on business applications to users for daily challenges.
    • Contribute to diverse and exciting projects like Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions and data distribution systems.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience working with C# and related .NET technologies in large-scale enterprise environments.
    • Proficiency in RDBMS and SQL (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
    • Experience with agile scrum methodologies.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interactions.
    • Proactive, user-centric mindset with a passion for both functional and technical aspects of challenges.
    • Advocacy for best software development practices.
    • Self-motivated and adept at prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
    • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.

    Additional Information

    Qualifications that will help you stand out

    • Experience with GraphQL or gRPC is a plus.
    • Preference for familiarity with Reactive Extensions (RX).
    • Prior exposure to commodities or trading sectors.
    • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
    • Knowledge of French language is advantageous.
