Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing you are responsible for:


Your main functions:


  • Lead and execute strategic plans to expand business in both existing and potential new diagnostic and live sciences customers and markets and develop an own sales funnel of engineering, contract manufacturing and service projects
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, etc. in collaboration with marketing and our Application & Sales Support team to increase the recognition of Volpi in the relevant markets and hunt for new customers
  • Establish contacts and build longterm relationships with key personnel and decision makers in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Research, Manufacturing and Supply Chain on all management levels
  • Optimally position Volpi and its engineering, manufacturing and service offerings with those customers and contacts
  • Identify, develop and realize business opportunities for Volpi inside those customers in close collaboration with the Application & Sales Support team
  • Shape attractive value propositions and quotes in collaboration with the other functions and executive management at Volpi and by partnering with other companies
  • Close the early sale, review and negotiate first contracts
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting with a focus on value creation for the customer and value capturing for the enterprise

Your profile:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, science or engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B business development of a product and services company, ideally in IVD and life science research industry
  • Customer centric business mentality with strong abilities to build and maintain long term business relationships
  • Experience with complex selling strategies to global organizations and startup companies and innovative, fast growing small and medium enterprises
  • Proven record in winning and closing sales for technologically sophisticated solutions
  • Sophisticated communication skills, including intercultural exchange, presentation, negotiation and influencing
  • Advanced managerial skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving and project management
  • Willingness to travel approx. 30%
