Boart Longyear is looking to hire a new Regional EHS&T Manager based out of our EMEA Region. The Regional EHS Manager will be responsible for the oversight of EHS programs and performance across the EMEA Region. You will partner with field staff, field supervisors, and management to provide a safe workplace.

Your leadership in the field will be vital and this requires regular travel to mine sites across the country to engage with frontline employees to ensure that they are being well supported and that the Boart Longyear high expectations on safety are being met.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • College degree with industrial or mining emphasis, or equivalent working experience. 2 years of fieldrelated experience in the Drilling Services or mining industry. 10 years military experience will also be considered. 2 years of experience in leading an EHS&T Team
  • Certifications in industrial health and safety such as NCSO, CRSP, CSP, CMSP, or NEBOSH are a strong plus.
  • Certified auditor in ISO 14001 and/or 45001 are also favored.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Willingness to travel, as required, to work sites, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license with safe driving history.
  • Must be fluent in English, French preferred.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the EMEA Region EHS&T Team to provide oversight and direction in meeting the needs and goals of the team and business
  • Routinely conduct workplace audits and rig inspections to monitor work activities and ensure compliance with client, company, and government regulations.
  • Assist and/or lead startofhitch, daily/weekly safety meetings.
  • Conduct postincident investigations as required.
  • Closely monitor and track injury management for injured employees to promote an efficient return to work and ensure that legislative and insurance compliance requirements are met
  • Partner with field staff to maintain the necessary documentation to comply with client, company, and government regulations.
  • Assist with developing written programs to meet client, company, and government regulations.
  • Conduct and deliver training to employees and participate in coaching and mentoring to improve professional development
  • Enter incident data and other required information into the Global EHS Management System (GEMS)
  • Responsible for field and shop safety inspections.
  • Obtain needed certifications to perform necessary duties, and train others.
  • Ownership of Lagging and Leading Indicator KPI programs. Generate reports and update teams on compliance and progress to targets. Prepare and monitor annual KPI programs specific to the region and collaborate with corporate EHST leadership on setting targets
  • Support ESG initiatives and support requirements including carbon emissions, health and safety statistics, and community initiatives involving EHS aspects.
  • Develop additional safety skills and credentials by attending selected courses and clinics.
  • Interact with client safety representatives, as required, and promote Boart Longyear's delivery of safe profitability and growth.
  • When directed, serve as a liaison, for personnel matters, between the office personnel and field crews.
