Why we are recruiting


The World Economic Forum's Europe and Eurasia team manages government relations for the region and curates the regional agenda through engagement with governments, as well as business, civil society, academia, and expert communities.

It also works in close collaboration with other Forum teams to catalyse a concrete action agenda for the region.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

Breakdown of main responsibilities


40% Government engagement- Interface with government counterparts in Europe and Eurasia, including through country visits, to drive existing project work and expand cooperation into new areas that match national and regional priorities in collaboration with the Forum's thematic Centres.- Proactively identify and develop the public sector and expert relationships that are required to support the Forum's work in the region and ensure the region's integration into the Forum's scope of activities.- Where appropriate, represent the Forum publicly at events hosted by governments or think tanks with which the Forum works closely.


30% Policy analysis and incubating initiatives- Monitor and evaluate critical developments in the region to help shape and ensure Forum programmes and activities are tailored to ongoing transformations on the ground.- Conceptualise new projects and initiatives for the region that align with the Forum's mission of improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation.- Generate and develop ideas for the team's thought leadership, by co-authoring op-eds, reports and other knowledge materials.


20% Programme management- Contribute to the preparation and execution of sessions on the region in the lead up to and during the World Economic Forum's virtual and physical meetings, including at the Forum's Annual Meeting.


10% Administration and coordination within and outside the Forum- Work closely with the relevant internal teams on protocol and logistics matters related to high-level government participation at Forum meetings.- Ensure electronic records related to the position's responsibilities are properly maintained and keep important team documents and internal platforms up to date.- Work to develop efficient team-related processes as required.- Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify the key relationships needed in Europe and Eurasia, and build and implement a strategic approach to managing these relationships.- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure that European priorities are well-integrated into the overall work of the Forum and that there is strong representation from the region at the World Economic Forum's meetings.- Conducting research and writing on topics and projects relevant to the region and enabling the team to act as the Forum's key adviser on government and policy in Europe and Eurasia.- Monitoring policy priorities at the regional and national levels to ensure that the Forum's work on the region reflects emerging policy and business priorities.- Helping convene communities in the region around specific ideas and challenges, and helping catalyse and manage projects and initiatives.


Preferred Requirements and Experience- At least five years' professional experience, including relevant exposure to the European institutions, international organisations or national administration.- Master's degree in international relations, law, economics or business.- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; other major European languages will be considered an asset.- Proven interest in European affairs, economics, business, and geopolitics.- Willingness to work in a dynamic setting, requiring outstanding results under pressure.- Ability to connect the dots in a complex environment, strong service and entrepreneurial attitude.- Energetic, self-directed, and collaborative team player who is comfortable in a fast paced and international environment.- Fully proficient at using various digital tools for both internal and external purposes.
