Are you looking for a unique opportunity to learn performance management in the commercial (re-) insurance space? You would support Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Global Financial Planning and Steering team in all processes and deliverables related to the execution of financial planning.

You would gain in-depth IFRS insurance accounting and other technical expertise, and a first-hand experience how portfolio planning contributes to the overall value and strategy in Swiss Re.


About the Role


You would work closely with the Planning and Steering team supporting on all aspects of financial plan execution, providing data insights, reports, and presentations.

With growing responsibility, you would be able to collaborate and partner intensively across Group Planning, Treasury, Risk Management, Asset Management and the Finance Corporate Solutions community worldwide.


Key responsibilities:

  • Support Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' planning process in all aspects and across stakeholders, consolidating plan components for the global business unit
  • Execute processes regarding the planning tool by liaising with IT project teams, testing functionalities and supporting business users
  • Develop and enable consistent business performance management under IFRS 17 insurance accounting and internal key performance indicators
  • Support the improvement of reporting dashboards and drive related production processes
  • Provide customized / adhoc performance and analytics

About the Team


The Global FP&A team supports managing and steering Swiss Re's commercial lines primary insurer, the business unit Corporate Solutions and its regional and product management teams.

We are a dynamic international team that is further developing and strengthening planning and steering capabilities to build a robust business plan supporting business growth in order to act as a challenger to our decision makers.


About You
You are a detail oriented professional and a dedicated team player.

You possess strong analytical skills and an affinity to solve technical challenges, with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion.


Essentials:

  • You are either close to completion or have recently completed your Bachelor / Master university degree in Finance or Economics
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel)
  • You show a willingness to work a flexible schedule as a team

Nice to haves:

  • Prior professional experience in financial planning & analysis or management reporting
  • Programming skills or financial modelling experience are a plus
  • You are able to perform tasks with a high degree of autonomy, but working closely with relevant stakeholders


The internship is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and will last 6 months from beginning of June until end of November 2024.


Due to immigration regulations non-EU/EFTA and UK citizens must provide a certificate from a Swiss University confirming that an internship is integral to their course of study.
