The Centre for Global Industries provides the unique and indispensable platform to industry communities to shape the industry agenda and advance sector-related public-private cooperation.

This Centre includes all the Forum's industry-related activities.


The Platform on Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare focuses on how the world can deliver healthy lives and healthcare for 9.7 billion people by 2050.

It curates international organizations, academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biomedical companies, healthcare NGOs, hospitals, healthcare providers, infrastructure and insurance organizations to shape the global health agenda.

Reporting lines and interactions


The Head will set the strategic direction for, lead, and supervise the portfolio of health and healthcare Initiatives comprised of a network of industry and stakeholder-initiated or led projects, and where appropriate, supporting communities.

The Head will set a culture of excellence, mutual support, and commitment to a common mission among their team.

The Head of Healthcare Initiatives will report directly to the Head of the Health and Healthcare Platform.

The Head of Initiatives will supervise a group of relevant Project Leads, and will work closely with other thematic Heads, Fellows, and relevant staff across the Platform as well as the broader institution.


Main responsibilities- Create and operationalize in a transparent and collaborative manner a strategic framework for Platform-driven initiatives and externally driven initiatives and coalitions to enhance impact across the Platform's thematic areas.- Conceptualize and develop associated process and knowledge management tools, including agile project planning, that are thematically and culturally relevant.

- Lead a matrixed team of project resources such that they are aligned with and operationalizing the strategic vision of the Platform and utilizing the above
- mentioned process and management tools.
  • Manage relevant financial resources, including reporting on specific grant funding, with strong annual and quarterly planning processes.
  • Support the Head of Industry in implementing strategic integration of relevant Forum partners into health initiatives across geographies and sectors.
  • Support the retention and development of the Platform's partner community as a member of the Platform's leadership team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Forum and Health platform's mission and regularly monitor relevant global developments in the areas pertinent to health and healthcare, and the intersections between them.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with relevant thematic Heads, regularly identifying opportunities for collaboration on initiatives, to drive greater impact and increase value for partners of the World Economic Forum.
  • Ability to navigate the complexity of a matrix organization and leverage synergies across functional competences and thematic content.
  • Agile coordination and management of the portfolio of health initiatives, integrating multiple views and evolving and innovating within a rapidly shifting context.
  • Ability to support the development and management of strategic partnerships with external partners, including major efforts by leading businesses, governments, and international organizations, in collaboration with thematic leads.
  • Support grants and partnerships related planning and reporting, aligning funding priorities to institutional impact priorities.
  • Close collaboration with Forum colleagues; managing longterm, shortterm, inhouse and remote contributors such as Fellows supporting project activities, as required.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the Forum's mission and global offices, and regularly monitoring relevant global developments in the areas pertinent to the Platform's remit as well as the intersections between them.
  • Ability to manage a team of experienced professionals


Preferred requirements and experience- Advanced university degree in public policy, business, or other relevant fields.- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally across business, government, non-profit, international organization and/or think tanks.

Experience in managing global frameworks combined with a network of geographically and/or sectorally distributed initiatives would be an added advantage.- and short-term objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.- Proven track record and interest in driving impact on the areas covered by the Platform and Centre's mission and dedication to interdisciplinary approaches, across one or more business, public sector, non-profit, think tank or international organization settings.
