Your responsibilities:

In this role you will have the overall responsibility for all purchasing activities of new customer projects.
In addition, you will work closely with the Global Commodity Management department to build and maintain a sustainable supplier base and implement the commodity strategy, taking into account the requirements and strategy of the Operating Unit
You will be responsible for ensuring competitive sourcing in compliance with the procurement process and drive the continuous development / optimization of processes, tools and resources
If required, you will provide management support for supplier negotiations (e.g. prices, contracts, etc.) to ensure the best possible results, particularly in the case of major awards in cooperation with the respective project buyer and Global Commodity Management
You guarantee the timely delivery of production material for new products, in the required quality, the right quantity and with the right price for your area of responsibility in coordination with the responsible cross functions
Furthermore, you support complaint and escalation management in the defined commodities and are an active part in the preparation and participation in business/management reviews
The disciplinary, technical, strategic and operational management / control of the globally oriented project purchasing team for the relevant customer projects including regular reviews and feedback meetings on the achievement of objectives is also part of your task

Your profile:

You have a university degree with further commercial training or comparable training with a sound technical background
Furthermore, you can look back on profound professional experience in an international environment paired with (disciplinary) leadership in the purchasing area and in the automotive industry
As a motivating personality you have proven your excellent communication and assertiveness skills several times
We require very good presentation skills and several years of sound negotiating experience for this position
Due to your experience and structured way of working you always keep the overview in complex situations and are also willing to go the "extra mile".
In addition, you have a sound knowledge of MS Office as well as SAP
Business fluent German and English for our suppliers as well as for your international team are obligatory for you in daily business
The willingness to travel internationally rounds off your profile
