The
Transportation Manager**, under the guidance of VP of Supply Chain and in collaboration with the Site Operations managers, provides leadership in managing the overall inbound/outbound freight lanes and costs.

Initially this position will be an individual contributor focused on delivering customer centric service, supporting the IOLS efforts and drive PPI across CMD.


What will you do?

  • Lead the Operation and Team at side in Allschwil and Rheinfelden
  • Own the transportation functional efforts for all activities across Switzerland and Germany
  • Provide the necessary training to internal personnel in all aspects of costeffective freight lane management while obtaining best in class service
  • Develop and deliver communication/awareness sessions for internal customers on the concepts and use of Logistics services.
  • Serve as the technical expert in matters of complex Logistics and Compliance
  • Own the PPI efforts for Logistics / Freight costs across all Business Units and sites, driving continuous improvements
  • Own the daily support of the implemented services
  • Collaboratively work with the Corporate Logistics organization to implement best in class practices and supporting Corporate initiatives
  • Provide supporting tools/presentations/programs/and templates for Logistics/Freight across our businesses.
  • A role model in leading with the Thermo Fisher Scientific culture of 4 I's.
  • Will support the development and implementation of the Lean Supply Chain process.

Experience and Education:


  • 510 years of related experience within 3PL activity logistics required with international health care/pharma experience
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred
  • German and Englisch is a must
  • Frech is a nice to have
