About the roleThe Head of Data will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing MS Reinsurance's Data Platform.
The Head of Data ensures that the Data Platform continually evolves to meet business needs, capitalizes on analytics capabilities to support value adding use cases and that the workforce is appropriately equipped and trained to leverage these resources.
The Head of Data will orchestrate data governance, data standards & definitions and ensures execution of the Data Strategy.Responsibilities:
- Oversee Data, Reporting & Analytics Platform, Data Governance and Data Management
- Manage all data related technologies, including Databricks, DBT, PowerBI and the Microsoft fabric stack and any potential future technologies, as well as 3rd party data sources
- Develop and lead the Data organization in MS Reinsurance
- Define KPIs and measurements for data quality and data platform development
- Be able to translate business objectives and user needs into requirements and continually evolve the data and business intelligence platforms to meet business needs
- Ensure that integration with other platforms is fitforpurpose and high data integrity is achieved and maintained
- Is responsible to maintain and support data platform, technical upgrades
- Secure compliance of data regulation and technologies applied to manage data
- Recommend process improvements, as well as foster innovative and scalable solutions
- Orchestrate / conduct data related trainings, guidelines, documentation and communication to MS Reinsurance
Profile:
- At least 10 years of experience within the Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence field, of which 5 years of leadership experience
- Proven track record of successful, outcomedriven, agile delivery
- Profound experience data governance and data management
- Demonstrated success managing stakeholders in a transformation context and able to interface well with users
- Strong analytical skills able to interpret business needs and transform them into solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and preferable in German
- Excellent communicator verbal, written, and drawing skills are essential
- Strategic thinking and data fundamental & concepts
- Proven analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Superb organizational and time management skills.
- Great collaboration, workshop facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Profound Database & Business Intelligence Technology experience
- Understanding of Agile Delivery Methodologies and principles
- Reinsurance Terminology and Processes (Preferred but not essential)
