- Procurement and Distribution: Supervise the purchase, setup, and distribution of laptops for employees.
- Maintenance and Resolution: Regularly maintain laptops, diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, and offer technical assistance to users.
- Security Protocols: Implement security measures for laptops, including encryption, access controls, and antivirus software.
- User Account Administration: Manage user accounts across different systems (e.g., Active Directory, email servers).
- Email Management: Administer email accounts, address email-related problems, and ensure the smooth operation of mail servers.
- Network Devices: Monitor and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Network Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Network Security: Implement security protocols like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Server Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain servers (physical or virtual) to prevent downtime.
- Backup and Restore: Establish and manage data backup systems for servers.
- Server Security: Apply security patches, access controls, and monitoring tools for servers.
- Physical Security: Ensure the physical security of hardware assets (servers, laptops, networking equipment).
- Access Management: Define and enforce access controls for various systems.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Regularly evaluate and address security vulnerabilities.
- Inventory Control: Maintain precise records of hardware inventory, licenses, and warranties.
- Incident Documentation: Record incidents, resolutions, and preventive actions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in hardware maintenance, network administration, or similar roles.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong technical proficiency in hardware, networking, and security domains
- Knowledge of networks: LAN / WLAN / switching / routing / firewall management
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills for user support
- Attentive to detail and proactive in problem-solving
- Proficient in English with French language skills preferred;
- The gross salary for this role ranges between 5'500 CHF and 5'770 CHF monthly (pre-tax). NB - IMPACT salaries are determined by a strict salary grid based on position grade, education level, and staff experience. The salary includes a monthly contribution of 450 CHF for medical insurance.

BACKGROUND ON IMPACT AND REACH
REACH was established in 2010 as a collaboration between two International NGOs (IMPACT Initiatives and ACTED) and the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT). REACH's mission is to support and enhance the decision-making and planning capabilities of the humanitarian community in emergency, reconstruction, and development scenarios. REACH aids aid organizations in information management through three key services: (a) conducting need and situation assessments with REACH teams; (b) analyzing situations using satellite imagery; (c) offering database and (web)-mapping solutions and expertise.
IMPACT Initiatives, a humanitarian NGO headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, spearheads various initiatives, including the REACH Initiative. The IMPACT team consists of experts in data collection, management, analysis, and GIS. ACTED, an international NGO based in Paris and operating in thirty countries, initiated IMPACT, leading to a beneficial global partnership between the two organizations. This partnership allows IMPACT to leverage ACTED's operational support in its areas of intervention.
In alignment with its organizational priorities and continuous development, IMPACT has decided to embark on a digital transformation journey, following the footsteps of its global partner, ACTED, while considering the operational collaboration in the countries of intervention. This initiative involves a) proposing, designing, implementing, and integrating modern software and cloud platforms to enhance communication, collaboration, and information sharing, empowering IMPACT staff to efficiently carry out their responsibilities; b) providing clear guidance and technical support to other functions (primarily IT, logistics, and procurement); c) training the IMPACT team on the usage of new solutions and advocating for process enhancements through these tools. All activities will be executed in compliance with IMPACT's Code of Conduct and guiding policies, with a specific focus on data protection, storage, and sharing principles, in close coordination with ACTED HQ IT teams to ensure compatibility while progressively transitioning to independent processes.
Reporting to the IT & IS Manager, the Senior IT Officer plays a vital role in overseeing and maintaining critical aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure, encompassing various technical domains to ensure the seamless operation of hardware, network, and security systems.
