Commercial & Business Development Manager
We are searching for an experienced Commercial & Business Development Manager for the Netherlands market.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN AMSTERDAM (NL)

Report to Regional Commercial & Business Development Manager Europe


The Commercial Manager will spearhead the implementation of the air cargo commercial strategy ensuring the successful marketing of all MSC Air Cargo services including premium products.

The Commercial Manager will focus on all commercial activities and performance to improve revenue and load factor to increase MAC market share and network utilization.


Responsibilities

  • Drive local commercial activity ensuring the delivery of targeted revenue growth.
  • Maintain sales pipeline, monitoring win loss ratio.
  • Primary owner of relationships with current and prospective MSC Customers in Netherlands including leading commercial negotiations.
  • Own local relationships with global and key accounts, forging and maintaining relationships with executive level leadership as well as key gateway managers.
  • Perform regular competitive landscape review at all online points.
  • Regularly report on commercial activities and results to Regional Commercial & Business Development Manager Europe and Head of Commercial
  • Identify opportunities in underserved markets to the Head of Network.
  • In addition to owning and leading all country commercial activity, the Commercial Manager will also provide significant input into the endtoend commercial process integrating market expectations, network and capacity planning, product strategy, and sales channel definition to ensure MAC offers the quickest speed to market with an innovative and complete service offering.

Tasks
Lead route and market development for MSC Air Cargo inside the country.


Capitalize on market seasonality and supply chain market volatility with a focus on perishable goods, Pharma, and supply disruptions including identifying additional capacity opportunities to Head of Commercial.

Launch routes and stations inside of country.
Coordinate with Legal/ Finance Departments on functions including but not limited to; monthly cargo sales reporting, and credit facilities.
Collaborate closely with air pricing teams to ensure volume growth while optimizing profitability.

Required Qualifications:
  • You have at least 10 years of air cargo experience with knowledge of Airline Cargo Commercial activities
  • You have an extensive knowledge of Export/Import Operations including customs and security regulations.
  • You have extensive knowledge and experience with AMCI, Charter, and dedicated lift solutions.
  • You have a proven ability to distill complex, ambiguous information with clear, analytical framework to drive decisions that consider longterm benefits and nearterm results.
  • You have strong commercial negotiation skills.
  • You work independently, are logical and solution oriented.
  • You are flexible, highly motivated, and open to travel.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You are fluent in English; further languages would be advantageous.
