    A day in the Life of a Department Manager

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of research and development professionals to work within their respective science fields and to apply their findings to common research and development goals
  • Contribute to defining a medium and long-term agricultural system sciences R&D strategy
  • Monitor emerging technologies in agricultural system sciences and regenerative agriculture and evaluate applications and possible implementation into relevant Nestle supply chains
  • Shape a relevant project portfolio linked to business and consumer requirements and bring projects to successful completion to achieve defined objectives
  • Manage projects to successful completion within scope, on schedule and on budget, including effectively documenting and prioritizing issues identified by others
  • Positively interact and communicate with team members of all levels to ensure there is consistent, open and active communication both within and outside R&D
  • Contribute to building an optimal interdisciplinary R&D structure by leveraging interpersonal strengths and technical background to effectively manage projects
  • What will make you successful

  • PhD in Agricultural System Sciences, Agronomy or Agriculture related science
  • Can also have equivalent professional work experience obtained outside of a doctoral programme
  • Minimum 7 years of multi-country people and project management experience with a proven track record of building and leading interdisciplinary, high performing teams- in a matrix environment
  • Solid knowledge in experimental design and regenerative agriculture
  • Solid experience in managing agricultural research projects and data science
  • Capability to lead and develop people
  • Ability to manage resources and budget requirements
  • Good experience in setting up external collaboration
  • Fluent in English
