    Job Description

    The main purposes of this role are to manage the supply chain and logistic flows of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products to and from the different manufacturing locations worldwide, and ultimately to the customers and end users as well as to balance the sales demand and supply of company products to customers in an optimal manner, improving business profitability.

    Your Responsibilities

    Reporting direct line to the End-to-End Operations & Supply Chain COO EMEA Animal Nutrition and Pet Solutions Chief Officer, this position will work closely with each of the plants Directors, Operations Directors, Business Managers and in close collaboration of the Customer Service & S&OP EMEA Director. As the Director of Logistics, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inbound and outbound inventory management, 20+ warehousing operations, third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships, transportation logistics, and management of co-manufacturers. Your role will also involve Managing co-manufacturers, 3PL, Transportation providers, through proper legal contractual and governing relation to secure supply (OTIF) at optimize costs, in safe conditions to ensure smooth inbound and outbound flows planning, operational execution, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's logistics operations and Cash flows.

    You will be responsible to develop ADM to the next step of maturity for logistics and ensure security in all or facilities. You will foster excellence and bring best in class processes to a team of senior professionals that you will manage.

  • Inbound and Outbound Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control strategies to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize stockouts, and maximize inventory turnover. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to forecast demand and manage inventory flows effectively and maximize cashflow. Lead the policy/process of finished products and materials inventories in warehouses to achieve the accurate balance between financial expense, service level and risk.
  • Manage co-manufacturers, through proper legal contractual and governing relation to secure supply (OTIF) at optimize costs, in safe conditions to ensure smooth inbound and outbound flows of materials and finished goods. Collaborate on production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control processes to meet customer demand and maintain product quality standards.
  • Warehousing Operations: Oversee the operation of company warehouses, including inventory storage, order fulfillment, and distribution processes. Implement best practices for warehouse layout, inventory organization, and workflow optimization to enhance operational efficiency in collaboration with plant directors. Lead the safety culture, conduct audits to proactively reduce risks.
  • Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Partnerships: Manage relationships with 3PL providers, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborate with 3PL partners to optimize transportation routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery reliability. Design best distribution networks.
  • Guarantee the efficient operation of the distribution centers, own and external, to have the correct distribution of products and improve the service levels to customers.
  • Transportation: Develop and execute transportation strategies to ensure timely delivery of products to customers while minimizing transportation costs. Optimize transportation modes, carrier selection, and routing to achieve service level targets and cost efficiency. Coordinate the transportation activities in each channel to guarantee the distribution of products with the best service level at the best operating cost.
  • Assess make or buy strategies to recommend in-house production or co-manufacturing solutions. Benchmark the market of Co-Manufacturers to propose solutions. Administrate the existing third-party manufacturers / toll manufacturers and look for alternative production solutions as needed to manufacture products that meet the company's quality standards, with the required response time, at the required cost, when the production and/or innovation plans so require it.
  • Work in close collaboration with the demand and supply planning teams to guarantee service to customers and a good inventory and risks administration.
  • Define the imports and exports process of the products to guarantee the correct service level to customers at the lowest cost and ensuring their timely supply.
  • Work with the quality team, the plant managers to minimize the obsolescence and the waste.
  • Your Profile

  • Engineering degree; MBA or International Commerce are a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years in logistics areas amongst which 10 years in similar positions (minimum).
  • Experience in a logistic consulting firm.
  • Proven track record managing Logistics, transportation, co manufacturing, customs and inventories is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in English and French. Other European languages a plus (Spanish)
  • Leadership skills, able to empower others and demonstrate team building skills.
  • Doer hands-on, customer centric
  • Statistics knowledge strongly desired
  • Ability to work in a multifaceted and fast-moving environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong prioritization skills, Pro-activeness and Project Management skills
  • Ability to multitask and strong capacity to absorb a large quantity of information and work.
