  • The System and Network Administrator is responsible for installation/configuration of local servers, operations, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure on site (Lausanne). This individual may participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, network, and related procedures adhere to organizational values as well as enabling staff/volunteers/Partners. This role will be Reporting to the IT Services Infrastructure Manager.

Responsibilities:


  • Engineering of System administrationrelated solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide scalability.
  • May create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
  • Provide other support per request from various members of the Infrastructure team.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot 3rd level escalated issues.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures (Servers onsite/User machines/network devices). Coordinate and communicate with impacted teams.
  • Maintaining, repairing and upgrading network and computer systems.
  • Monitoring network and systems to improve performance.
  • Upgrade and configure system software from Atlassian Products (Jira/Confluence/Service Management)
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills in English; verbal and written
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in desktop engineering and endpoint system management, Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc).
  • Knowledge of desktop, notebook, and server hardware including configuration and troubleshooting of systems.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, Domain Controller, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Outstanding technical, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Teamplayer, within the IT department and entire company, and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, a keen eye to detail, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to learn, grow and share new skills and knowledge with the team.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a fast paced working environment.
  • This role is office based, excluded from our remote working due to business need/ nature of the role. Our office is based in Lausanne, it is expected you will need to be in the office 3/4 days a week with working from home an option for the remainder of the week._
