Your responsibilities
We are pleased to offer an Experienced Project Graduates (QUEST) position to join the IC Technology R&D at CERN.
Our team is focused on developing a Radiation Tolerant System-on-Chip (SoC) design platform, based on industry-standard interconnect architectures and Open-Source RISC-V processors.
We are seeking a skilled developer to join our team and work on the design of a radiation-tolerant RISC-V-based SoC and the development of related automation tools.
You will be responsible for:
- Research and development of radiationtolerant RISC-Vbased SoC architectures.
- Implementation and maintenance of automation tools for hardware and embedded software generation.
- Study the processor and SoC architectures to optimize and identify areas that require radiation tolerance by design.
- Stay uptodate with the latest trends and developments in SoC architectures and incorporate them into design flows.
Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
- Knowledge of microprocessor architectures and instruction sets (e.g. ISAs RISC-V).
- Proficiency with programming languages such as C++.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python. Knowledge of TCL can be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SoC design approaches and SoC architectures.
- Proficiency in hardware description languages such as System Verilog would be a strong advantage.
- Experience with System-C modelling and interest in nearcycle accurate simulations could be an advantage.
- Interest in compiler technology and optimisation techniques could be an advantage.
- Problemsolving and critical thinking skills to identify and overcome complex design challenges.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in the field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and being motivated to achieve project goals.
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Electronics Eng.
- a
Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a
PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a fellow or graduate contract before.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

6194 and 6808 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax). - Coverage by CERN's comprehensive

30 days of paid leave per year.
