NRC Geneva requires an intern to support NRC's Institutional Partnership Team in the areas of partnership, support to country offices, and information management.

The intern will provide analytical, administrative, and logístical support to the Institutional Partnership Officers, engaging with Switzerland-based institutional donors—particularly UNHCR and other UN agencies—to enhance NRC's partnership portfolio.

The intern will also be expected to work closely with other members of the Geneva team to cover internal and external events, ensure the production of timely meeting minutes, and prepare background materials and documentation for record keeping and circulation.

The intern must be enrolled in studies and pursuing this internship as an integral part of the course.


What you will do
The intern will report to the Institutional Partnership Coordinator and provide support to the team in the following areas:

  • Follow the latest developments related to partnerships, programmes, and funding opportunities, including through attending meetings and other relevant events, and producing meeting notes
  • Monitor donor websites, including the UN Partner Portal, for funding opportunities
  • Participate in desk reviews to assist in mapping NRC's current partnerships and opportunities for enhancement with specific UN agencies and Swiss donors
  • Regularly update donor budget overviews, fact sheets, and presentations, including tables and charts developed in MS Excel
  • Maintain an updated database of partnership documents, including strategies, reports, concept notes, proposals, and signed agreements
  • Systematise and ensure uptodate filing of available information related to donor funding rules and regulations; ensure updated archiving and internal document management
  • Consolidate multiple information sources to draft donorspecific FAQs, lessons learned, and input to capacitybuilding presentations and monthly newsletter
  • Support NRC's work and projects related to humanitarian financing or the Grand Bargain 2.0, as needed
  • Provide logístical support to the team in the organisation and coverage of internal and external events
  • Any other tasks assigned by the IPO or other NRC staff, to include administrative duties

What you will bring

  • Currently enrolled in a master's program with a completed bachelor's degree in International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, International Development, or another relevant field.
  • Experience in or knowledge of humanitarian partnerships, humanitarian financing, and/or donor relations.
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proven research, analytical, organisational, and administrative skills
  • Multitasking and dealing well with change

The university must be willing to sign a tri-partite agreement with NRC Geneva and provide an attestation confirming that the internship gives study credits.
