Category Procurement Manager
THE POSITION
To efficiently and timely manage all the multi categories within the Ship Management which will include: Stores (Deck and Engine), Nautical Charts, Mooring ropes, Paints, Lashing material, Medicine and Luboil.
The position will have the responsibilities to manage the consolidated negotiations for Ship Management for the categories that fall within the area of responsibility, ensure the best cost and service in the market, develop benchmark, ensure respect of the budget, manage the relationship with existing suppliers, scouting, development of new suppliers and access to new innovations and new technologies available on the market.
YOUR IMPACT
As Category Procurement Manager you will:
- Manage the portfolio of categories of Stores, Victualling, Nautical Charts, Mooring Ropes, Paints, Lashing Material, Medicine and Luboil: develop and execute strategic sourcing plans and tactical initiatives in a responsible, sustainable, and ethical manner on a global basis.
- Manage Suppliers relationships: develop existing supply base and identify opportunities for portfolio optimization
- Effectively interact with Ship Management offices to a clear technical guidance and support to ensure coherence of Procurement activities and technical needs
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and contract negotiations for the entire MSC Cargo fleet (Cyprus + Sorrento) and ensure savings and value delivered are properly tracked and reported
- Develop and consolidate procurement partnering relationship with key stakeholders at all level of the Organization to ensure early involvement in defining requirements, agreeing the procurement route and supplier negotiations.
- Lead issue resolutions with suppliers, monitor, analyze, communicate, and provides guidance for market cycle impacts and trends within assigned categories
- Actively support the harmonization and implementation of Purchasing Policies and Processes, tools and technologies to improve results & increase efficiencies
- Provide guidance to local organization for the proper execution of centrally negotiated deals and strategies
- Create a benchmarking tool to have continuous monitoring of the actual cost/service performance vs. the market
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Minimum 5 years in an international procurement environment.
- Perfect command of English, written and spoken. An additional language a plus.
- All commodity Office package, SAP.
- Team worker, willing to embrace the change, proactivity, honesty.
