About the Role
In this role at Group Economic & Sigma Research, you will actively contribute to the formulation of our European macroeconomic forecasts and analysis, as well as support our client and public policy outreach.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Support development of views and outlook on key macroeconomic variables for European economies (e.g. GDP growth, inflation, interest rates, central banks). Closely monitor and assess also broader economic, political, and financial market developments
- Conduct quantitative analysis and modelling on macroeconomic topics
- Support Swiss Re's thoughtleadership topics and client outreach by writing reports and preparing highquality presentations
- Support the Group Chief Economist and European Chief Economist in various tasks (e.g. writing background notes, designing slides, some administrative tasks)
About the Team
Group Economic & Sigma Research is part of the Swiss Re Institute under Risk Management, and is in charge of analysing and forecasting the global macroeconomic and insurance market environment.
The team also drives thought leadership on topics of strategic importance and is responsible for Swiss Re's flagship Sigma publication series.
The team is located across geographies, is highly visible and interacts with a wide variety of key partners and decision makers across Swiss Re and externally.

About You
- In the process of completing or already successfully completed a university degree in Economics or Finance.
- Ability to break down, communicate and visualize often sophisticated concepts in an easy and digestible way. Both written and verbal communication skills are excellent in English; German would be a plus
- Strong analytical skills, including ideally econometric and programming skills in one of the major statistical softwares/programming languages (R, Stata, Matlab, Python)
- Highly motivated with a cando attitude; commitment to continuous learning and willingness to challenge and improve the status quo
- Very agile, openminded and curious personality with ability to work under tight timelines
- Mature and proactive; showing a high degree of own initiative
- Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
- Ability and passion to work in a global and multicultural environment
