Teamlead Process Engineering, Mechanics

Position summary:


The Manager Process Engineering is responsible for the personnel and technical management of the operational mechanics group as well as projects concerning production technology, equipment, innovation and optimization.


He ensures that the work of the operational mechanics group is carried out in accordance with the currently valid Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) as well as relevant occupational safety regulations.

The Manager Process Engineering ensures timely changeover/adjustment of machines and technical support to Operations during order execution. He/she ensures that machines are maintained, calibrated and repaired in a timely manner.


Furthermore, he/she ensures the planning and implementation of smaller projects in terms of timeline, cost, quality and generally supports the selection and procurement of new machines, as well as the coordination of their transfer into regular production operations.


Your tasks:


  • Personnel and technical management of the operational mechanics group (12 FTE)
  • Ensuring compliance with SOPs / GxP guidelines as well as strict adherence to internal and external occupational safety regulations / guidelines
  • Organizing the scheduling of operational mechanics to ensure smooth order processing, especially during shift operations
  • Ensuring timely technical problem solving
  • Ensuring timely maintenance, calibration and repairs of machines and technical equipment
  • Management of smaller projects in the field of production technology, equipment and related innovation and process optimization
  • Organization of the procurement and management of the auxiliary/working equipment of the operational technology necessary for the daily work
  • Communication with internal functions (for example Customer Services, Operations and Planning&Readiness)
  • Advises other functions on technical options to implement studies
  • Supports and promotes continuous improvement of quality and efficiency using PPI methods. This includes the continuous search for improvement opportunities of the machinery and processes
  • Support of the entire Facilities & Engineering department regarding optimization of existing as well as selection and commissioning of new technical equipment and machine jobs.
  • If required, assumption of other tasks within the Facilities & Engineering department as well as support of other locations, e.g. Allentown (US), Horsham (UK), etc.

Your profile:


  • MSc/ BSc in engineering, process engineering or sound technical education with several years of professional experience.
  • Several years of professional experience in a regulated work environment (e.g. Life Sciences industry)
  • Strong personnel management skills
  • Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Experience in project management, innovation and process optimization
  • Experience in process improvement technologies (for example Green Belt)
