Do you have significant experience in digital communication? Do you have a strong interest in creating graphic visuals and producing print and digital editorial content? Did you already organize events to federate and inspire a large community to participate in world challenges? Do you aspire to work in an engaged program and are interested in social innovation, technology, and complex international challenges?- EPFL Tech4Dev aims to create, develop and implement sustainable innovative technological solutions in Low
- and Middle-Income Countries in close collaboration with NGOs and local partners. The initiative is one among a few that explores novel ways for universities to contribute to the economic, social, and environmental development in LMICs, and advances these current approaches with its dedicated technological entrepreneurship angle.

  • To date, 2 cohorts, for a total of 8 projects, received the Tech4Dev Grant. This implies the participation of 7 EPFL Labs, 29 researchers and 15 global South partners.
  • The first edition was launched in Dec 2019 and will end in December 2023. A new edition for 2024 is under construction.

A digital marketing/communication and event coordinator Intern:


Your mission:


Reporting to the Tech4dev Program Manager, your mission will be to participate in the structuring and development of the Tech4dev communication, as well as to contribute to the implementation of internal communication strategies and externally defined.


You will participate in:

  • Organizing a final Event in October to Close the first edition of Tech4dev
  • Promotion of the new edition of the Tech4dev program 202
  • Visibility of partner actions and the ecosystem
  • Promoting solutions, project leaders, and stakeholders related to the current program

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Design and production of communication media

  • Writing and production of print and digital editorial content (visuals, brochures, posters, banners, social network carousels, etc.)
  • Making animated videos
  • Supporting teams with the design and updating of communication media, ensuring adherence to Tech4dev' and the EPFL's brand identity
  • Monitoring and reporting of communication actions
Community Management

  • Creation and monitoring of an editorial calendar of publications on social networks
  • Animation and moderation on social networks: Linkedin, Instagram, Youtube
  • Relay of posts from the community (alumni, project leaders, partners, etc.)
  • Adapted and innovative digital creative proposals
  • Monitoring and reporting of actions on social networks
  • Monitoring peer social media accounts for inspiration
  • Participation in the creation of a new version of the website
  • Participate in the reflection and construction of a new Tech4Dev website content
Events- Organize the event to close the first edition of Tech4dev

  • Occasional operational support during internal and external events
  • Photo and video coverage at these events
  • Relay on social networks
Contribution to the implementation of the communication strategy- Participation in the digital strategic reflection of Tech4dev and in the planning of communication

  • Monitoring and referencing of news and key events on external communication platforms (media, distribution partners, NGOs, Universities, etc.) in connection with the development of social innovative technology in LMICS.

Your profile:


  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree program, or freshly graduated in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, communications, entrepreneurship), you can ideally demonstrate a first experience in digital communication.
  • You have already produced visuals and produced print and digital editorial content (visuals, brochures, posters, banners, social media carousels, etc.) and produced videos.
  • You are familiar with the Research academia sector and social innovation and that of support structures: incubators or accelerators, NGOs, and impact companies.
  • You have a strong interest in the animation of communities that you like to federate around strong themes that bring people together and mobilize.
  • You aspire to work in a committed organization and are interested in social innovation entrepreneurship.
  • You are creative, curious, and have a critical mind.
  • You are versatile and enjoy being involved in a variety of missions.
  • You are proactive and autonomous in project management.
  • You know how to demonstrate rigor and organization in the production of deliverables and the achievement of objectives while respecting deadlines.
  • You act with enthusiasm and dynamism.
  • You master computer and graphic design tools (Google Suite, Adobe Suite, Canva, and others) as well as a CMS (Wordpress)
  • You have skills in the production and publication of web content.
  • You have a very good knowledge of social networks and their uses.
  • You are comfortable with spelling and have great writing skills in English and French
  • You have skills in graphic and visual creations.
