The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is looking for a contractor to help WIPO GREEN to develop its access to finance model to support technology development and deployment.
WIPO's mission is to develop a balanced and effective international IP system that enables innovation and creativity. WIPO GREEN is an online platform for technology exchange. It supports global efforts to address climate change by connecting providers and seekers of environmentally friendly technologies.
WIPO GREEN has developed a work stream to decrease the barriers for green technology adoption and deployment. It aims to support green technology providers and adopters to have more knowledge on climate financing opportunities, support connections between climate finance actors and entrepreneurs – particularly for Micro and Small-Medium Size Enterprises (MSMEs) – and provide new climate financing opportunities. Currently, some matches identified through WIPO GREEN's Acceleration Projects cannot be deployed due to a lack of finance on the side of the technology adopter. This includes for-profit institutions with limited access to capital (i.e. farmers, SMEs and producer cooperatives)
