Job Description:


  • Supply Chain Operations support a large range of logistics services fulfilling inbound and outbound needs of CERN's community to realize the ambitious scientific program of the Organization. During the graduate program you will touch base regularly with the goods reception and expedition, internal delivery, central stores, storage and mail services.


As part of the Services and Supply Chain group, you'll actively contribute to continuous improvement through the various LEAN processes and tools already in place (ex: Audit, 5S, PDCA), and you will be responsible for the implementation of identified tasks in the associated action lists (such as update of standard, new ops process, upgrade of equipment or infrastructure).

It's all aimed at achieving the ultimate goal of maximizing value while minimizing waste and reducing environmental impact of the Supply Chain Operations.


Who we are looking for

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • You have a professional background in Supply Chain (or a related field) and have either:

  • Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a
PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.

  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Skills and/or knowledge

  • Knowledge of supply chain and LEAN principles;
  • Fluent in French, the ability to work in English would be an advantage.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

This position requires:

  • A valid driving licence.

What we offer

  • A monthly stipend ranging between
    6194 and 6808 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

    Pension Fund.
  • Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract.

  • Onthejob and formal training at CERN as well as inhouse language courses for English and/or French.
