Fotokite develops autonomous, high-endurance tethered unmanned aerial systems to help firefighters and public safety teams save lives.The Procurement Lead manages supplier sources for specific commodities and/or production programs.
This position reviews and acts upon material requirements by negotiating pricing and delivery while ensuring a positive supplier relationship with the supply base and managing material delivery receipt to assure property inventory levels and payments to suppliers.
Works in collaboration with and acts according to guidelines from engineering.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the company's supply chain management relationship with the external contract manufacturer(s) by ensuring that inventory levels are sufficient for production, solving for parts shortages and exceptions, and managing material flow
- Mitigates risks in the supply chain by proactively identifying weaknesses and recommending remedies
- Negotiates purchase order prices as well as terms and conditions with suppliers to meet cost saving targets
- Communicates engineering changes to suppliers in a timely manner
- Enters purchase orders into and maintains the inventory management system
- Follows up on delivery commitments obtained from suppliers to ensure on time receipt of materials and provides delivery status to production for open purchase orders
- Collaborates with engineering during the R&D process with respect to supply chain
- Reviews supplier statement of work (SOW) documents internally as well as with suppliers
- Participates in identifying obsolete materials and acquiring hard to find components
- Works to develop supplier and partner relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity
- Participates in supplier audits
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree in supply chain management or related equivalent technical degree
- Five years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or similar experience with one year in an electromechanical industry
- Proven track record and knowledge of procurement procedures and policies
- Excellent communication, computer, and analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Indepth understanding of product costing attributes
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with mínimal supervision is required
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization
- Fluency in English is required, any other language is a plus
