The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the Laboratory for Muon Spin Spectroscopy we are looking for a
Postdoctoral Fellow*:

Detector Physicist

Your tasks:

- the-art particle detectors. You will be responsible for organizing the production of the detectors, performing the optical and electrical testing of the detectors and for the installation and commissioning. In all aspects of your work, you will collaborate with the Detectors and the Electronics groups at PSI with the goal to develop and produce new, cutting-edge detectors for the upgrade and maintenance of existing μSR facility instruments. Using the facility instrumentation, you will participate in topical research on novel quantum materials.

Your profile:

You are a recently graduated PhD scientist with experience in the field of experimental particle or condensed matter physics. Preferably, you are familiar with scintillating detectors and SiPMs as well as fast electronics. Knowledge of PCB board design, GEANT4 and 3D CAD sofware would be of advantage.
