Group Head of Cross Border


YOUR MISSION:


Provide a central point of contact for all matters related to cross border activities for staff across the Private Clients Business and ensure the oversight and the evolution of the existing framework.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and support the forums in charge of the Cross Border framework oversight and dependencies with the Commercial strategy
  • Lead and manage the Cross border team in accordance with the defined activities:
  • Maintain the library of cross border policies and e-learnings for Private Clients Business, including wealth management, external asset managers and finders and ensure interaction with internal and external support teams
  • Act as expert and provide crossborder advice to colleagues within Private Clients Business for new jurisdictions, multijurisdictional scenarios or special cases.
  • Design, review and oversee cross border relevant operational procedures, control framework and tools (i.e. travel approvals) within the 1st LoD control framework.
  • Participate in the effective management of cross border risks by identifying, evaluating and escalating risks where appropriate, and working with stakeholders to articulate robust solutions
  • Lead and support specific and transversal projects related Cross Border activities to ensure continuous evolution of the control framework and/or governance considering the recommendations of the 2nd or 3rd Lines reviews or monitoring activities.
  • Act as the central point of contact for 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (Risk, Compliance, Audit) for any queries or initiatives impacting cross border activities.
Collaborate with the Business Risk Management teams in developing and adapting the cross border control and monitoring framework by:

  • Conducting post travel reviews of Bankers cross border activity.
  • Producing cross border metrics for governance forums.
  • Followingup of front office staff for any cross border travel exceptions.
  • Conducting review of banking commercial pipeline for identification of cross border implications.

DESIRED PROFILE:

  • Sound expertise of cross border regulations and practices in the Swiss Banking and Investment sector including dimensions related to product distribution across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 510 years' experience in Banking and Finance sector or Big Four consulting firms required, preferably in a Compliance, Legal, Risk related function
  • Business oriented with strong interpersonal skills, relationship building and influencing skills and ability to effectively partner with all levels of management across numerous teams to help drive the cross border agenda.
  • Resilient and willing to work within a fastpaced, pressured and demanding environment.
  • Excellent multitasking and adaptable to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal initiative, ownership and accountability.
  • Flexibility and capability of engaging across diverse functions, locations and businesses.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to determine key messages from detailed data.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and understand when to seek advice or guidance from peer or management.
  • Fluent (written and oral) in French and English will be an advantage.
  • Excellent professional knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Swiss domiciled.
