Job Overview


As Head of Intelligence & Insights, you will play a pivotal role in securing a successful design and execution of SHL's commercial strategy.

By collecting and analyzing data as well as generating and communicating insights, you will empower internal stakeholders to make informed, evidence-based decisions.


Main Responsibilities

Intelligence & information management:Maintain and, as needed, build systems that collect and organize customer, competitor, market, patient, payer, and other types of information and intelligence. Evolve systems in a way that allows for easy scalability of the Intelligence & Insights team.

Research planning and execution: Take the responsibility for planning, initiating, and overseeing research projects in alignment with SHL strategy and leadership needs. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify emerging opportunities and determine potential threats. Furthermore, build evidence around the benefits of SHL devices to position and market SHL products and services in the most effective way.

Insight generation and distribution: Based on profound data analysis, generate insights and prepare to communicate these in an easy-to-understand way. Create regular reports on the development of the pharmaceutical market for injectable products and present findings to internal as well as external stakeholders in a coherent way. Furthermore, take the responsibility for managing and successfully distributing the generated knowledge across the organisation.

Demand forecasting and pipeline analytics: Oversee prediction of long-term demand based on data and identification of deviations from current demand plans. In addition to that, assess the SHL sales pipeline and suggest actions to improve it (e.g., having a certain number of leads per stage).

Team development: Besides being responsible for ongoing Intelligence & Insights tasks, drive and shape the future vision of this newly established team.


Skills and Qualification

Education: Master's degree in business administration, marketing, market research, statistics, data science, economics, or a related field.

Work experience: Minimum of fifteen years of experience working in market research, data analytics, marketing, business development, strategic planning, or a similar function.

Industry knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry as well as profound awareness of medical trends and market factors that could influence the ecosystem of advanced drug delivery devices.

Functional expertise: Experience in designing and coordinating primary and secondary market research projects internationally, if required collaborating with external agencies to develop market and customer insights. Strong track record proving significant impact and success with relevant projects.

Analytical mindset: Advanced problem-solving ability and outstanding numerical skills with an eye for detail and a rigorous approach to accuracy. Good knowledge of Excel for analysis of large volumes of numerical data.

Project management: Proven ability to initiate and drive highly complex, global, strategic, and cross-functional projects in international matrix organizations. Ability to deal with and manage uncertainty.

Stakeholder management: Ability to drive forward the commercial agenda by managing stakeholder groups from diverse cultural backgrounds, internal and external audiences, and varying levels of seniority. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.

Visionary thinking: Not afraid to challenge conventional thinking through a combination of deep commercial expertise, a clear vision, and true passion for the topic. Acting as a sparring partner and advisor, bringing in new ideas from the outside.

Communication and presentation: Creative personality, high attention to details and high focus on quality. Ability to structure and present quantitative and qualitative data in an easy-to-understand and convincing way.

Driven mindset: Motivated to shape this newly established team and flexible to work with an evolving scope of responsibility.

Language: Fluent in written and spoken English. German and Chinese are considered an advantage.
