    Job Title: Diver in Underwater Archaeology

    A unique opportunity to join our team at the Bildungs-und-Kultur-Direktion-des-Kantons-Bern as a diver in underwater archaeology.

    • Conduct scientific research and explore wet environments with a team of 7 people.
    • Support excavation, prospecting, monitoring, and supervision of third-party work within context using digital tools like image processing software, GIS databases, photography, and topographic surveys.

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • Diving certification (CMAS 2* or equivalent) and driver's license category B. Category A is desired but not required initially; obtaining it after entering the profession is preferred.
    • Basic knowledge in archaeology. Complementary knowledge in areas such as geographic systems (GIS), CAD programs, databases photogrammetry or topography is an asset.

    We seek someone who can work independently yet responsibly and reliably within a team environment. Adaptability to various environments - both outdoors all year round and office settings - is crucial.
    The successful applicant must demonstrate cultural diversity awareness of the Canton of Bern alongside proficiency in both French & German acquired level B1 or equivalent.
