TEMP Research Senior Engineer (MDR) 100% m/f (until March 2023)

Job summary:

The Research Senior Engineer (MDR) has a broad understanding of the EU regulatory environment for orthopedic medical devices especially the current Medical Device Regulation (MDR). He/she is responsible for ensuring that information supporting safety and effectiveness in terms of mechanical performance is available and well documented. He/she establishes and maintains strong working relationships with related internal partners to support this pursuit including: product development, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance. He/she has strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills and provides a high level of confidence to management that all activities are being performed properly and in a timely manner without need for in depth review.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the mechanical performance related aspects of device designs in terms of the EU MDR General Safety and Performance Requirements
  • Ensure the proper documentation of mechanical performance related information in the context of design control procedures, quality management systems and the EU MDR and its requirements
  • Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc (Bachelor) in mechanical engineering plus eight (8) or more years of experience
  • MSc in mechanical engineering or closely related field (e.g. biomechanics) plus six (6) or more years of experience
  • PhD in mechanical engineering or closely related field (e.g. biomechanics) plus four (4) or more years of experience
  • Strong understanding of GxP concepts (especially Good Documentation Practice)
  • Demonstrates the ability to balance needs of different departments to project requirements and schedules
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); working knowledge of German is an advantage
  • Demonstrates ownership for the integrity of all work in their area of responsibility
  • Constantly searches for areas to make improvement
