The organisation is committed to excellence and discretion in the services provided to its clients and needs similarly high standards in support of its own staff. Rothschild & Co is building a strong IT Operations Support team to support the business in its ambitious strategic objectives.The successful candidate will have a varied and hands-on role working in the Business Applications Team taking responsibility of operating, supporting, maintaining and upgrading the Business Application platform and in particular the new Front Platform of the Bank. As a member of a small team, it is important the candidate is solution oriented, thinks flexibly, takes ownership and has the ability to work independently.ResponsibilitiesSystem Management - Setup, maintenance, monitoring and support of the Business Applications platform of the Bank. The main components of the platform are:Infrastructure: Linux, Windows and AIX ServersDatabases: MS SQL and OracleKey Applications: Avaloq core Banking, Avaloq Front Platform (eBanking), Advisory system FinantixMain tasks:Operations - overseeing and executing the day-to-day activities of Operating systems as well as the Core- and surrounding Applications and DatabasesInstalling applications and interfaces using automation and based on a banking security standard Operations – Ensuring system processes are properly scheduled and monitored during the day and on call. Managing incidents and system upgrades out of office hours or over weekendsRelease Management - Managing testing and releases of new IT services, with a strong emphasis on adopting proper change management processesProblem Management - Assisting in continual improvement of systems through careful analysis of issues and their causesService Management – Coordination with external parties providing infrastructure and application servicesProject Management – Managing smaller technical IT projects such as infrastructure change or introduction of a new serviceEducation and QualificationsDetailed “Run-the-Bank” knowledge and ability to drive operational efficiency and improvementsExcellent knowledge of Linux / UnixKnowledge as Database Administrator Oracle and/or MS SQLOther useful skills include knowledge of tools like PKI infrastructure, Splunk, experience in programming in Shell-Script and PowerShell2nd and 3rd level support experienceKnowledge around network and system security topics e.g. hardening, WAF, Loadbalancer and firewallsExperience in release and change management e.g. Bamboo, BitBucket and NexusExperience, Skills and Competencies RequiredAbility to solve problems independently, quickly and completely and to communicate them clearly to managementExcellent written and spoken communication skills in English and GermanExperience of managing small projects independently like for example system upgradesStrong team player with an ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence amongst peers and colleaguesFlexible individual willing to get involved where required and keen to face new challenges and learn new toolsStrong Service Delivery Mentality with real attention to quality and excellence in all areasStrong IT BackgroundITIL FoundationIf you are curious to learn more about us and have valuable experiences in a similar role, then please submit your CV and Cover Letter through our recruitment tool.
