We arelooking for a Product Designer!

Service NSWfor Business is looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team.
We use modern technologies and platformsand are leading the way with Lean Start-up, Agile Extreme Programming (XP), andUser-Centred Design to ensure the customer is at the core of everything we do.

As a Product Designer you will be able to contribute towards allaspects of projects and learn from others.

From initial discovery to delivery, you will play a key role inuncovering insights through research, testing as well as putting togetherwireframes and user interface designs for development purposes.

You will be working alongside many product designers with variousbackgrounds enabling you to learn and explore our ways of working.

You will work in a highly collaborative,cross-disciplinary team with other Product Designers, Content Designers,Product Managers and Engineers. Our small, focused teams consistently achievegreat results by listening to customer needs and iteratively and continuouslyshipping products.

You will get the opportunity to hone your Design Thinking and UserResearch skills and apply Lean UX and Agile approaches to deliver meaningful andimpactful experiences for businesses in NSW.

Yourresponsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with other designers and product managers to conduct research and co-create solutions to problems or opportunities.
  • Focusing on the needs of our customers (businesses in NSW) as well as contributing towards the Service NSW for Business goals.
  • Build relationships with other team members across Service NSW to improve and unify customer experiences across Service NSW.
  • Assisting with research preparation, testing prototypes, facilitation of customer research and generating insights both qualitative and quantitative; generative and evaluative).
  • Assisting in creation of wireframes, user interface designs and interaction examples to assist development.
  • The utilisation of user experience processes and workshop techniques.
  • Actively collaborate with other designers and contribute to team initiatives

  • Someone who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment. Our balanced product squads include a product manager, designer, engineers and other roles - and pairing across these disciplines leads to incredible results.

  • On your first day, you’ll have:

  • Experience in user experience and user interface design.
  • Experience applying user-centred design processes while working collaboratively with customers and cross-functional teams including engineering and product management.
  • Knowledge and Experience with Design Thinking and agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, HCD, Lean).
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the value of experience design.
  • An understanding of how engineering processes work to bring product designs to life.

  • Your employment at Service NSW is subject to a satisfactory national criminal record check and various assessment process in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013. A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
