Reporting to the Assistant Director of Curriculum Services (Clinical Courses), the Course Assistant provides dedicated administrative support to clinical and advanced basic science courses in the Program in Medical Education.
The primary responsibilities of the Course Assistant include preparation and posting of course materials on learning management systems
communications with teaching faculty, administrative staff, students and patients regarding course sessions, reservation of classroom/meeting space, parking, catering and other services for faculty meetings and course events provision of support to course sessions and clinical assessment exercises, assistance with faculty mailings, student group assignments and schedules assistance with course wrap up logistics assistance with data collection, records management and storage.
The Course Assistant may be assigned other ad hoc course projects as required.
College degree preferred 2 years experience in an academic setting is a must.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills.
Proficiency in office technologies and web-based applications as well as experience with or strong interest in teaching and learning technologies.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as a dedicated team player in a fast-paced environment; discretion with confidential information.
Sound judgment and follow-through.
Must be able to effectively prioritize assigned work against multiple deadlines and have the capacity to respond and adapt to last-minute changes.
