TheMixed Reality&AI Lab inZurichis looking for Research Interns in Computer Vision,Machine Learningand Robotics,broadly defined.As an intern you will work closely withone or morementors andhave access to the latest hardware and softwaretechnology weare developing.An internship at Microsoft willnot onlyhelp youadvanceyourowncareer butallow you tocontribute to exciting research developmentsin the field.Interns learn, collaborate, and network for life alongside some of the world’s best researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities

Interns puttheir research skillsand theory into practice. During the 12-week internship,youwillwork on anexcitingand open-ended projectthataims to push the state of the art forward. You will beexpected to collaborate with other interns and researchersbyregularlysharingtheir findings with the group, actively seeking feedback from others, workingin a shared codebase,and giving a final presentation. Research internships are available in all areas of research, and are offered year-round, though theyoftenbegin in the summer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

University students in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Robotics, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates would haveone or more of the following qualifications:

  • PhDstudent with at least a year of research experience inone of the following areas:
  • visual odometry,SLAM,image features and camera pose estimation, multi-viewstereo
  • human-robot interactionwith MixedReality, multimodal robot mapping,
  • human modelling, tracking, andaction recognition
  • deep generative modelling,and deep learningarchitectures
  • neural rendering and computer graphics
  • Algorithmic problem-solving and software development skills (Python,C++,etc.).
  • Experience with open-source tools such asPyTorch,Tensorflow,ROS,OpenCV,etc.
  • Familiarity with open-source3Dlibraries such as COLMAP,Open3D,Theia,Maplab, etc.
  • Publication(s) in top-tier conferences or journals in related fields CVPR, ECCV, ICCV,IJCV, PAMI,ICRA, IROS, RSS, IJRR, TRO,NeurIPS, ICML,etc.).
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
