Are you looking for a unique, truly innovative role? Then we have the right opportunity - we are looking for a Field Technician Support Consultant (f/m) in Lugano to join us! In this amazing role, you will apply your technical background and knowledge of industry trends to provide on-site level 1 support, including both hardware and software, for massively parallel (MPP) supercomputer systems, clusters and storage systems. You will provide highly visible customer technical support in a small team under minimal supervision to one of our highly-valued customers who operates several HPC computing systems in Lugano/Switzerland (Primary Location). How you’ll make your mark:

  • You'll resolve customer or occasional field reported cases within a defined timeframe using standard processes and managing a queue of cases.
  • By partnering with team members, other organizations, customers, and vendors on complex issues.
  • By interacting with the customer in technical meetings, multitasking to manage and balance a varying workload
  • You will manage assigned cases in order to meet service levels as defined in the Customer’s Service Level Agreement as well as escalate problems to product L2/ L3 support groups and appropriate management to ensure timely resolution of system or customer issues.
  • By demonstrating excellent verbal and written skills (e.g., documentation, case notes, defect reports, knowledge base articles, etc.)
  • About you:

  • You have a track record as a System Analyst/ System Engineer, ideally 5+ years
  • You have in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems, (HPC) file systems, workload managers (preferably SLURM and/ or PBS-pro), cluster management systems, networking and security
  • You have an understanding of server components including motherboards, memory and storage, network switches as well as an understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and principles
  • Ideally you have knowledge of programming and scripting (e.g. Perl, Python, C++, etc.)
  • You have advanced skills in customer service, communication as well as a very good understanding of general customer support processes, support offerings, customer agreements (SLA’s), and entitlements.
  • You are fluent in English language, good command in the local language would be considered a big advantage.
