You have the ability to lead the strategy and set-up the Technical Competence and Quality department? Responsible for introducing new categories and building relationships. You feel confident signing-off new components' product launches? You work with people in a variety of Competence Center related jobs including Quality, Procurement, Distribution centers, Product Management, Supply Chain & Production. Collaborating with each stakeholder, you strive to establish cohensive language and a unified voice across products and platforms.

As a Director Technical Competence and Quality, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a large range of automotive spare and wear parts whilst assuring the quality of LKQ's products are at the highest standards. The role will suit an individual who has extensive product development, quality assurance knowledge within the automotive / aftermarket industry.

Essential job duties:

  • Defining the strategic agenda for the product assortmentin collaboration with the product management function of LKQ Europe
  • Direction and sign-off of product development standards,technical data standards and product quality standards,best practice and KPIs
  • Constantly ensuring that the development of newproducts meets the independent aftermarkets needs of acontinuously changing market
  • Providing industry leading technical data quality andinstallation of our products to exceed user expectations? Driving quality assurance, quality management (ISO standard) and warranty management
  • Coordination with key stakeholders within theorganization (procurement, supplier qualification, supplychain, marketing)
  • Developing a motivated and effective team of professionals
  • Effective leadership across organizational boundaries toensure optimal business decisions, effective executionand promotion of our people
  • Business or technical University degree
  • An experienced leader in product development, qualityassurance or production in the automotive supplierindustry, preferably with focus on the automotiveaftermarket
  • Experience in leading multiple teams in several countriesand companies within a matrix organization
  • Experience in dealing with producers in Europe and Asia
  • Experience in technical product development andmanagement
  • Experience in quality assurance and management
  • Proven leadership skills in an international environment
  • Hands on mentality and attention to details
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, willing totake responsibility/accountability
  • Fluent in English, German or any other European language is a plus
