The Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care (IfIS) is based at the Medical Faculty. It includes Implementation Science and Digital Health. Janna Hastings is Professor of
_ Medical Knowledge and Decision Support_ and is building up a working group at
_UZH _and at
_School of Medicine in St. Gallen_.
The position is part of the GALENOS project that aims to create a global resource of living systematic reviews of preclinical treatment directions in mental health research, led by the University of Oxford.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the development of a comprehensive ontology for the mental health domain.
- Write scripts to automate ontology content discovery and integration, check technical correctness of ontology content, and support domain specialists in content development.
- Programming in Python to help develop ontology tools for working with OWL, ontology integration, reconciliation, and visualisation of ontology content.
Your profile:
- MSc in computer science or related discipline.
- Excellent theoretical understanding of semantic technologies including OWL.
- Practical experience with semantic technologies including OWL and associated technical tools or infrastructures such as Protege and the OWL API.
- Experience building ontologies within a scientific domain is desirable.
- Experience with open scientific research infrastructures e.g. open data, FAIR is desirable.
- Good communication skills.
- Problemsolving attitude.
- Selfmotivated, comfortable taking initiative and comfortable working in a team.
- Enjoys interdisciplinary work.
- Fluent in English and basic understanding in German.

- Place of work is shared between Zurich and St. Gallen. Remote work is possible but attendance at facetoface meetings is expected.
- The position is limited to 2.5 years. Possibility to extend the position to a PhD student position 60%.
