Position Summary


As a
Legal Counsel - Data Privacy, you will be the key legal contact for the Nestlé Group for data privacy expertise and counseling, providing strategic advice, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, and supporting investigations and responses to data privacy complaints.

Additionally, you will play a role in monitoring the Nestlé Privacy Program, developing training materials, and advocating for data privacy externally.

A Day in the Life of a Legal Counsel - Data Privacy

  • Provide legal advice and ensure compliance with data privacy and protection standards, policies, and legal requirements
  • Develop and implement training materials, best practices, and templates for data privacy compliance
  • As part of the Group Data Protection Office, collaborate with with Nestle's Global Network of Data Protection Champions to advise on projects and meet business objectives
  • Monitor and assess compliance with data privacy laws, identify gaps, and propose safeguards
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure data privacy compliance with vendors and partners
  • Review Records of Processing Activities and Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Contribute to change management projects for privacy culture
  • Educate on data ethics and address privacy and data governance considerations
  • Advocate on data privacy matters in external meetings and associations

What will make you successful

  • Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an international environment, preferably in top law firms or multinational companies
  • Certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or equivalent is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy and protection laws, regulations, and digital/AIrelated regulations
  • Proven track record of successful business partnering and collaboration with other functions, particularly IT
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Fluent in English
