We are Mana, a senior co-living platform that is redefining the experience of later living. We are creating a new category of senior living focused on community, longevity, and fulfillment. Leveraging our unique expertise in hospitality, design, and longevity, we are constructing a global network of co-living hubs. These hubs connect residents, members, and neighbors, fostering a community centered on belonging.


The Role:


As Development Director you will play the leading role in the design, development, and delivery of our projects across Europe.


Tasks and responsibilities:


  • Appoint and lead project professional teams through the feasibility, design, planning, development, delivery, fitout, and hand over process
  • Prepare development appraisals, project program, and financial modelling to assess the viability of schemes, guide decision making and inform value engineering
  • Tender, appoint and manage construction teams
  • Ensure projects remain on program and within budget, and identify opportunities to add value at every stage
  • Help the Investment and Acquisitions team to prepare and submit bids to secure new opportunities
  • Manage and liaise with key stakeholders on projects including local authorities, landlords, funders, and legal teams
  • Lead the community engagement process with support of thirdparty consultants.
  • Manage project compliance and risk management
  • Lead a small dynamic team

What you bring:


  • 10+ years experience in real estate development and construction
  • Experience in the design and delivery of development projects through the RIBA stages
  • A detailed understanding of the planning and development process
  • Hands on experience in contract negotiation, tendering, and managing external contractors and professional project teams
  • Excellent project management skills, internally and externally
  • Competent in financial modelling of development appraisals
  • A strong commercial and technical approach with a tight handle on costs and values
  • Strong leadership skills with a bias for action, execution, and getting the job done
  • You are a problem solver. You believe that there is always a solution and room for negotiations
  • Detail oriented, process driven, and sets the bar for all involved
  • Experience in the buildtorent, coliving, senior living, hospitality, student housing sector is a bonus
  • A passion for hospitality, design, and longevity
  • Fluent in English
