Job purpose:


The HR Director for Headquarters and EMENA Region will manage all aspects of HR and the employee life cycle across COFCO International's Headquarters in Switzerland as well as the distribution business of CIL across the EMENA region, supporting approximately 400 employees distributed across HQ and region.

Main shareholder is COFCO Group, the largest state owned Chinese agriculture/ food company.


Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
Attract, select, onboard top industry talent and fill budgeted positions on time, cost quality
Improve employer branding and reputation of CIL's G&O business

HRBP
Partner with and support the business to achieve targets, notably profitability, cost reduction, corporate tax reduction system implementations
Develop, recommend and implement effective people management policies and practices
Provide leadership and professional guidance to team members on recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation, benefits and other issues
Participate and contribute to Global HR initiatives across the board and implement in the region.
C&B
Build close relationship with Corporate C&B to understand corporate policies
Drive and support CIL's participation in benchmarking exercises and data surveys
Drive performance management implementation and processes
Regularly review benefits
Participate as appropriate in union negotiations related to G&O business
Serve as approver on HR side for off cycle increase, promotions etc


  • Talent & Succession
Build a talent pipeline for commercial and other functions
Lead annual talent review in line with corporate/ global process
Build succession plan with a map of internal and external succesors
Drive and contribute to talent identification, development and management in CIL's operations
Establish retention measures where needed


  • Leadership Development & Training
Support establishing Individual Development Plans (IDP) across the organisation
Develop HR team
Ensure adherence to corporate and local training policies
Initiate local trainings, especially around leadership, diversity management and culture


  • Organisation Development
Support local management in developing the G&O organisation structure
Support local management to enhance change management and communication
Support building a cohesive culture along the CIL values
Organise regular employee engagement surveys and a feed-back culture


  • Employee Relations
Support and participate in union negotiations as much as required, under full coordination with HR Softs and shared resources
Ensure compliance in all employment law matters
Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and policies
Champion Swiss legal employment and social law matters


What does it take to be successful in this role:
Degree in law or finance
Minimum 15 years experience in HR or Legal (employment law) gained in a multinational or international work environment - ideally in the trading or industries
At least 5 years of team management experience
Excellent business acumen
Very good understanding of Comp & Ben practises
Experience with high paced commercial environment
People management experience - remotely managed team/s
Very open to cultural diversity and different management styles
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High command of English
Highly commercial and numeric
Energetic self-starter
Adapted to high pressure
High degree of Intercultural awareness
Highly service
