Our Opening and Your Responsibilities


Our business unit (EU-HUB) is our logistics hub in Europe and provides logistics services for METTLER TOLEDO in the worldwide service business and in the import and export of products.


For the strategic development and management of the European Logistics Hub in Nänikon/Greifensee, we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic General Manager European Logistics Hub 100% (all genders).


In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • You lead and manage the EU-HUB team and you are responsible for the worldwide distribution of products and spare parts (50 HC)
  • As a leader, you manage, develop, and coach the EU-HUB leaderteam members with senior leadership principles
  • It is your responsibility to keep the staff focused, customeroriented, and highly motivated to meet and exceed customer's expectations
  • You identify and develop talents and ensure to have a successor ready for all critical functions
  • Managing relationships with thirdparty logistics providers (3PLs) and other partners to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery (~200HC)
  • You continuously improve logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • You must further optimize the cost structure by leveraging more automation Your role involves developing and implementing logistics strategies to optimize the supply chain regarding quality, costs, and delivery
  • You ensure global alignment within the other 2 Hubs and with the group's overall SCM strategy
  • You ensure high availability of products and spare parts for both internal and external customers
  • You ensure quality processes and compliance standards are met to maintain high product quality and safety
  • Developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the logistics team's performance is also part of your role
  • Collaboration with other departments, such as manufacturing and procurement, is necessary to coordinate logistics activities and support new product launches
  • You manage logisticsrelated budgets and costs to ensure financial targets are met
  • Your role involves staying uptodate with industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
  • You must ensure close collaboration with SBU regarding NPDI and enforce global standards.
  • Optimizing Sales and operation planning from Market organizations to Strategic Business Units to factories is your responsibility
What You Need to Succeed

Following requirements are necessary for this role:

  • You hold a Master's degree in a relevant fields (logistics, supply chain management, engineering, etc.)
  • You have extensive experience within logistics and supply chain management with a proven track record of success in leading teams and achieving operational targets, including management of an outsourced operation
  • You gained strong knowledge of logistics processes and best practices, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
  • You have a growth mindset, and you are someone willing to tackle new challenges and is committed to continuously learning and growing to achieve the goals of the unit
  • You are an enthusiastic person who can make a difference in your environment and motivate people
  • You have excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
  • You are able to work effectively in a team environment and manage multinational environments simultaneously
  • You are proficient in German and English
